Step up your budget

Let’s be honest.  Money is hard. Motivational books talk about not coming from a place of scarcity, but coming from an abundant mindset to attract the life you want.  Now whether or not you believe in the ‘law of attraction,’ it’s true that money often feels scarce. At one time or another in your life, I bet you’ve felt it too.  No matter how much money you have, there never feels like enough. It feels spent before you earn it, like there is always more you want than what you have. And while that might be true (or at least feel true), you need to remember that this phase in your money life is temporary.  Just a season. And as tough as it might be right now, you can keep going and change the course of your next money season. You just need a plan. You need to step up your budget to get your money on track and achieve your goals.

As boring as it is to have a plan for each dollar you earn, a budget can help you move closer to and achieve your goals.  Having a plan and sticking to the plan is how my student loans shrunk in half over the last year. Now be mindful that I didn’t say it was easy.  I’m not going to lie to you, sometimes it’s really tough. Sometimes you need to make sacrifices, but the feeling of making progress towards our financial goals is so worth it.  Remember that you can reach your money goals and when the going gets tough and things don’t go to plan, get back on the path and keep going. You can do it.

I’ve created two great options for people who want a little bit of extra help to kick off the budgeting journey right and work your way to get out of debt.  If you’ve ever been frustrated with your money or had trouble sticking to a budget, keep reading to see if either of these options below can help you jump forward on your financial path.

Option 1 to step up your budget

The first option is a way to DIY your budget plan.  This budgeting basics bundle printable download can be used on the computer or printed and done on paper.  This 19 page workbook really breaks down your income and expenses and helps you truly see where your money is going and where you might be able to cut back.  The bundle should pay for itself in the first month because it’s laid out so you can easily see where you are spending $15 more than you want to be. It also takes into account that budgeting is not a one size fits all approach and there may be a budgeting area where you are not interested in cutting expenses.  Once you get an idea of all of your income and expenses, there’s a sheet to help you discover what your current financial goal is and how to incorporate it into your budget. This way, not only are you thinking about this month for your budget, but you’re also thinking about your big picture budget goals. Each page is laid out simply so that even if you have never looked at a budget before you can easily complete the document and create a financial plan for yourself and step up your budget.  It’s so easy that a beginner who has never budgeted before can do it, but so impactful that it can change your financial future.

Option 2 to step up your budget

The second option is to schedule a financial coaching session with me.  This can be done after you’ve completed option 1 or on its own. With this method, you get more personalized attention and advice on how to create your budget, create a plan to get out of debt, and make progress towards your financial goals even when it is tough.  Budgeting is 20% knowing how to do it and 80% actually doing it and staying motivated. With this option I provide individualized encouragement and suggestions to help make your budget really work for you and help you achieve your financial goals as quickly as possible.  With specific steps and take away items from me you can really step up your budget because I might see creative solutions that you might not have considered doing it on your own.

Why should you purchase a printable product or coaching session from me?

  • I do not judge.  I understand that money can be really difficult and sometimes finances get out of hand.  Truly, I recognize you for wanting to change your current financial situation. Everyone starts somewhere and the fact that you are not fully satisfied with where you are currently and are trying to make it better is worth encouraging and supporting.
  • I have been in student loan debt, have carried a credit card balance, and have taken a larger car loan than was wise.  I understand how tough it can be and how it can feel impossible to escape. I also know how amazing it feels to be in a good financial situation, how much better you sleep, and how much less you worry.  I truthfully believe that no matter what your financial situation looks like currently, you can feel the peace that comes with being financially secure. And I know that the difficult journey to get there is worth it.
  • I talk and teach in a way that is easy to understand.  I’m not a certified financial planner, accountant, lawyer, or life insurance salesman.  I will not talk with hard to understand or unexplained terms or try to sell you products.  My goal is to help you feel good about your financial situation and to help you discover what budget plan works best for you and your family.
  • I have experience helping others understand and utilize their potential. I used to tutor math to girls who had been told that they weren’t any good at math.  What they soon realized was that when they were encouraged and coached and pointed in the right direction, they weren’t bad at math at all. They just needed support, training, and encouragement for their brilliance to shine.  I hope that my guidance will help you create your best financial life.

I believe that everyone can change their financial situation for the better and the first step is realizing that you aren’t where you want to be.  The second step is believing in yourself that you can do the work to get to your dream financial situation. If you want a road map to help you get to your destination, purchase the Basic Budgeting Bundle or Financial Coaching.  Taking action is critical to step up your budget.
